As part of the BBC's Dancing in the Streets / Big Dance Fetsival the cast from the Rocky Horror Show performed the Time Warp live on stage in London's Trafalgar Square on Saturday 22nd July 2006
Even Richard O'Brien joined them on stage for the live broadcast at 9.15pm. Thanks to Becky for this image from the rehearsals for the event.
The original plan had been to try and break the world record for the most people to dance the Time Warp and many fans of the show also braved the rain to dance along in the square. The actual record attempt (like most things with television) didn't happen on the day, although we were probably a little short of the entry from the 2001 Guiness Book of World Records that listed 4,446 kids dancing the Time Warp at the national exhibition centre, Birmingham in June, 2000. However we found out later the actual record for people dressed in Rocky costume and dancing the Time Warp was yet to be set. Either way a lack of meeting the Guinness World Record's criteria meant the record bid didn't happen as planned.
