Simon Beck
Musical Director

Simon's first professional engagement was at the age of 20 when he conducted the European premier production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard.

Recent credits include musical director for Marry Me a Little at the Etcetera Theatre, London, Strictly Sondheim at Leicester Haymarket, Silk Stockings at the Lilian Baylis Theatre as part of the Lost Musicals Season, assistant musical director for Acorn Antiques the Musical starring Julie Walters at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket, Aladdin starring Sir lan McKellen at The Old Vic and On Your Toes starring Adam Cooper at the Royal Festival Hall and Japanese tour.

Other credits include assistant musical director for Les Miserables UK tour, Follies at Royal Festival Hall An Evening With Sir Tim Rice, Holders season, Barbados, West Side Story, A Little Night Music and Oliver! all at Leicester Haymarket.

Simon was Len Cariou's vocal coach when Mr Cariou recreated the title rote for the concert performance of Sweeney Todd at Royal Festival Hall as part of Stephen Sondheim's 70th birthday celebrations. He also worked with the great Jerry Herman on The Best of Times at the Vaudeville Theatre.

Simon has played the piano/keyboards in numerous West End productions including The Woman in White, Chicago, Miss Saigon, Les Miserables Beauty and the Beast, Show Boat, Martin Guerre and Sunset Boulevard, as well as concerts with the BBC Concert Orchestra - Hampton Court Palace and Royal Festival Hall, London.

For Marjory Watson's debut album The Spark of Creation, Simon was musical director, pianist, solo vocalist and arranger. He can also be heard on the original German cast recording of Sunset Boulevard, as well as countless demos of new musicals.

Simon has performed extensively in cabaret, taking his one man show as solo singer/performer around the world, in venues from Jermyn Street to Japan!
