As part of the 2024 World Record Shop day and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the show, there was a special release of Richard O'Brien's Original Demotape Recordings for The Rocky Horror Show

We queued for an hour or so at our local record store to get a copy. Luckily they'd ordered three copies in and we managed to get one each!

The Rocky Horror Show 50th anniversary - Original Demotape Recordings LP
It's a lovely album, presented in a gate fold with lots of the orginal press cuttings and notes for the recordings. We'll update the page later when we have actually had a chance to listen to all the tracks a few times.

Fun fact: I took a very similar photo of Oakley Court to the one on the album back in 2011. Close, but not quite exact same photo.

The CD has a fold out copy of the LP centerfold, but as it is only CD size is quite difficult to see a lot of the text. Much, much better on the LP.

One really nice touch is the image of the castle artwork undeneath the CD.

One thing I did notice was the track listing on the rear cover is slightly wrong as Superheroes is track 11 and Over at the Frankenstein Place is track 12. They've swapped the order on the cover sleeve listing.

If you can find the original record, that is the one for collectors.
