Matthew trained at Laine Theatre Arts.

Most recently Matthew appeared in Guys and Dolls at the Piccadilly Theatre where he appeared in the role of 'Liverlips Louie' and understudied the roles of 'Big Jule' and 'Sky Masterson'.

Matthew's Theatre credits include Chicago (The Adelphi Theatre, West End) where he understudied the role of 'Mary Sunshine'; the role of 'Alonzo' in Cats (UK Tour) where he understudied and preformed the leading roles of 'Munkustrap' and 'Rum Tum Tugger'; the new musical Miami Nights (Dusseldorf) where he understudied and performed the leading role of 'Jimmy'; Disney's Beauty and the Beast (International Tour) where he undestudied and performed the parts of 'Gaston' and the 'Beast'; 'Alexandro' in Saturday Night Fever (Musical Dome in Cologne, Germany).

Other credits include Jack and the Beanstalk (Theatre Royal Plymouth); Dick Whittington (Churchill Theatre Briomley); 'Seymour Krelburn' in Little Shop of Horrors and Carmen (Both at the Mercury Theatre, Colchester).

His television credits include The Royal Variety Performance (the Lyceum Theatre BBC TV) and Jades Journey (HTV).
