Kara trained in classical voice at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music in 2000 followed by a year of dance at Brent Street Performing Arts College, Sydney.

UK credits include: Evita (1st cover Eva Peron, 2008/9 UK tour); Scrooge starring Shane Richie (Ghost of Christmas Past, 2007/8 UK tour and Dance Captain 2005/6 UK tour); P&O Oriana world cruise (lead production show singer, 2006/7); Starting Here, Starting Now (one of five cast members 2006, Upstairs at the Gatehouse); Jesus Christ Superstar (Cover Mary Magdalane and Dance Captain, 2004/5 UK tour) and Thomson Cruise's The Emerald (lead show singer, 2003).

Australian credits include: Eureka (Bridie O'Malley, workshop and original concept album, 2002, Sydney); Home and Away (Kelly, 2002 episodes); Garage Days (Sarah, 2001, Alex Proyas feature film) and Fiddler on the Roof (Grandma Tzeitel, 2000, Mackay).
