Matt trained at the Glasgow Academy of Musical Theatre Arts, before leaving for another three years training at the Arts Educational School in London where he gained a BA Hons Degre. During his studies he played Billy in 42nd Street, The Tinman in The Wizard of Oz and Vlad Vladikoff in Seussical the Musical.

After graduating he played Billy in Angels and Kings at the Arundel Festival and was a swing in We Will Rock You at the Theater 11 in Zurich.

In London's West End matt played the role of Jeweler and cover Raoul in Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty `s Theatre, Mick Jagger, cover Galileo and Brit in We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre in London. Matt was in Legally Blonde as part of Original Cast at London's Savoy as Aaron Shaultz, cover Emmette and UPS Guy. Matt also played Bicarat in The 3 Musketeers at the Rose Theatre, Kingston.

Matt is also heard on the original Cast recordings of Just So and Legally Blonde in a live recording. On TV he worked on Benissimo and at a concert to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

He also excelled as a member from "The Rock Tenors", in the popular satire show Jest End, and also in a recording of "Pretty Woman" and in workshops and recordings of rock opera Romeo and Juliet, and Soho Cinders as well as a Twang .
