Dani is one of the biggest stars of children's television in BBC history...

Dani was the winner of the 2010 Children's BAFTA for Best Drama, and was also nominated for her performance as Tracey Beaker in its various incarnations, with the programme attracting another nomination in the Children's Drama Category at the 2011 RTS Awards. Dani was also nominated for a Welsh BAFTA for Best Actress for her performance in Tracey Beaker's Movie of Me. Dani's House, her own hit CBBC show also received a 2009 Children's BAFTA nomination. In its last series in 2011/12, Tracey Beaker Returns received the highest ratings ever for the CBBC channel. In 2012, it is the most requested programme on iPlayer with over 550k requests in first 3 days of transmission.

Born in Berkshire, England on 8th February 1989, Dani started her acting career aged 6 in the Pete Townshend rock musical Tommy and went on to play July in the National Tour of Annie.

She landed the role of Tracey Beaker at the tender age of 12, and has played the character for six successful series and still continues to make her mark on the TV in her own sitcom Dani's House.

Alongside these, Dani has also had roles in several high profile programmes including Molly Venables in three series of After You've Gone (the character of which was created for her) for BBC1, Young Jo Brand in Little Crackers for Sky, Trial and Retribution, My Family, Pie in the Sky, The 10th Kingdom, Beast, Touch Me, I'm Karen Taylor, Beep Beep in The Beeps and the pilot for Coming of Age. She was one of the presenters, known as "packers" in the 2006 series of the Saturday morning show, Mighty Truck of Stuff. Dani has also presented on BBC Radio 7s The Big Toe, presented CBBC and has been a guest on The Wright Stuff . One of the highlights of her career so far was performing at the Queen's 80th Birthday bash - in the reprised role of Tracey Beaker. 2012 sees her join the line up for Let's Dance for Sports Relief on BBC 1.

In addition to her numerous screen credits, Dani is in much demand as a panto star with previous productions including: the title role in Peter Pan, Dorothy in Wizard of Oz, Dolly Mixture in Snow White and Spirit of the Belles in Dick Whittington.

Dani finished filming on her new series Dani's Castle for BBC last year, and recently took part in the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, coming 4th overall. Her huge following and support from the show saw her take part in the National Tour which she has just completed.

Dani is a proud Ambassador for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
