Richard trained at The London School Of Musical Theatre.

His first professional engagement was playing the role of Mikado in The Hot Mikado at The Gatehouse, Islington. The show received rave reviews, and was Time Out Critics' Choice.

Other theatre includes: Judah and in the subsequent tour Joseph in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, UK Tour; Brad Majors in the UK, Singapore & New Zealand Tours of The Rocky Horror Show; Godspell, UK Tour; Blood Wedding and Petite Rouge, The Scoop, London; Austentatious at the Landor; Newsrevue at the Canal Cafe Theatre; I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, Drama Centre Theatre, Singapore; Richard Owen in Giants In The Earth, UK Tour and most recently Dustin in Starlight Express, Bochum Germany.

Richard has also appeared in numerous pantomimes: Sleeping Beauty Lichfield Garrick, Jack & The Beanstalk Yvonne Arnaud Guildford, Cinderella at the Shaw Theatre, and Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs at The Capitol Theatre Horsham and Buxton Opera House.
